The special concert is held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the orchestra’s first ever concert, which took place on 4 November 1974. In the 50 seasons since then, the Slovak Sinfonietta has performed a total of 3457 concerts, 1672 of them on its own stage in the Fatra House of Arts, 755 in other Slovak cities and 1030 abroad in 37 countries on 4 continents. The orchestra, which has 35 members, has had more than 200 players in 50 years. The most frequently played composer is Mozart, from whose works Slovak Sinfonietta has performed 188 works so far.
