NEW YEAR’S CONCERT IN THE RHYTHM OF WALTZ

Program:

Opera and operetta arias, waltzes and polkas by J. Strauss Jr. and his contemporaries

The traditional New Year’s concert will this time be dedicated mainly to Johann Strauss the Younger on the 200th anniversary of his birth (1825 – 1899). Arias from popular operas and operettas will be performed by the rising Slovak opera star Soňa Godarská, laureate of several international singing competitions. After two years, the world-famous Slovak conductor Oliver Dohnányi will take up the New Year baton.
