The General Manager of the Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina announces an audition for the following position:
Principal Double Bass with the duty of Five-String Double Bass (full-time)
The audition will take place on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 2.00 PM at the Fatra House of Arts in Žilina
Commencing Salary from 1.400,- Eur gross (due to contestants’ professional experience)

Solo repertoire:
– BACH: 6 Suites for Cello Solo (transcription for double bass) – one arbitrary movement
– Classical Concerto (1st and 2nd movements including cadenzas) by Dragonetti, Dittersdorf, Vaňhal or Hoffmeister
Orchestral excerpts:
MOZART: Symphony in C major No. 41 KV 551 “Jupiter” – 1st movement (bars 133-154) and 4th movement (bars 383-end)
MOZART: Symphony in G minor No. 40 KV 550 – 1st movement (bars 114-138) and 4th movement (bars 163-206)
MENDELSSOHN-BARTHOLDY: Symphony No. 4 “Italian” – 4th movement (bars 30-53)
CIKKER: Memories – 3rd movement (No. 16)
STRAVINSKY: Pulcinella – 7th movement (complete)
