ONE® – an Orchestra Network for Europe

The ONE® project represents a major collaboration between European orchestras, dating back to 2004. ONE® has already had four successful projects (ONE®, ONE® a new dimension , ONE® step further, ONE® goes places (June 2011 – June 2015) ). The ongoing fifth project called ONE® is more is planned for four years – from autumn 2015 to 2019.

Seven orchestras are currently involved in the European Orchestra Collaboration Project: Orchester de Picardie of Amiens (France), Jenear Philharmonie (Germany), Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina, RTV Slovenia – Ljubljana, Slah Katowice Philharmonic (Poland), Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Zlín (Czech Republic) ), The New Symphony Orchestra (Sofia, Bulgaria) and the University for the Creative Arts (UK), a total of 8 partners across Europe.

The main goals of the project in addition to mutual cooperation are: exchange of experiences, intercultural dialogue, development of national cultures, creation of new works and support of young talents. ONE® is the first project in which players gain experience by joining another orchestra, merging orchestras, or creating “mixed” ensembles from multiple orchestras. Ordering new works and disseminating them through a network of orchestras are very valuable for the development of European culture.
