František Macek, the new Chief Conductor of the Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina, presents the first of a series of concerts dedicated to the Year of Czech Music, which will be celebrated by the entire musical world in 2024. This year brings the jubilees of Bedřich Smetana (200th anniversary of his birth and 140th anniversary of his death), Antonín Dvořák (120th anniversary of his death), Leoš Janáček (170th anniversary of his birth), Josef Suk (150th anniversary of his birth), Vítězslav Novák (75th anniversary of his death) and others. The world-famous Czech pianist Ivo Kahánek will perform as a soloist.
