Žilina wind trio
was established in 1987 on the initiative of members of the State Chamber Orchestra of Žilina as a natural reflection of their relationship to chamber music and playing in a small chamber ensemble. The ensemble has given a number of concerts not only on the home stage at the Fatra House of Arts in Žilina, but has also received excellent acclaim in other cities in Slovakia. He performed at various occasional events such as at the beginning of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Declaration of the Slovak Nation in Martin 1988, at the opening of the Interpretation Competition of the Slovak Republic in Banská Bystrica in 1989, at many openings, at the matinee in Mirbach Palace in Bratislava (2000 and 2004), at concerts in spa towns spring and autumn concert cycles, etc. In 2009 they also performed at the largest Slovak music festival Pohoda in Trenčín. As part of the international project EU Orchestra Network for Europe, members of the ensemble performed together with musicians from other European orchestras several times in France, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. As members of the ŠKO and affiliated chamber ensembles, they have given concerts in almost all European countries, in the USA, Tunisia, Japan and Brazil.

Oboist Miroslav Ivaniš (1964) is a graduate of the Žilina Conservatory in the class of Milady Hrianková (1984) and the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in the class of Jozef Ďurdin (1992). During his studies, he won 1st and 2nd prize at Slovak conservatory competitions and 1st place at the Dušek competition in Prague. Since 1986, he has been a member of ŠKO Žilina, with which he also collaborates as a soloist, similarly to the chamber ensemble Archi di Slovakia. He teaches at the Conservatory in Žilina. Together with the violinist František Figur and ŠKO Žilina, he presented the premiere work of Róbert Gašparík, Profundus motus, under the direction of German conductor Alexander Schwinck.

Bibiána Bieniková studied at the Conservatory in Žilina in the class of her father Pavel Bienik and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in the class of Jozef Luptáčik. During her studies, she successfully participated in several national competitions (1990 – 3rd prize and 1992 – 2nd prize at the Slovak conservatory competition). Twice she was an active participant in the International Master Interpretation Courses in Brno. During her studies at the Academy of Performing Arts, she performed solo with the orchestra and the wind quintet several times. In 1993, he won the first prize at a competition organized by Yamaha. Since 1994, she has been working as the first clarinetist at ŠKO Žilina, with whom she often performs as a soloist (Stamic, Crusel, Mozart, Weber, Gašparík, Bella). In November 2000, she performed as a soloist with the Slovak Philharmonic under the baton of Bystrík Režucha, with whom she presented the premiere work Inner Painting by Róbert Gašparík at the New Slovak Music Festival. This was also performed at the ŠKO Žilina subscription concert in March 2001. In cooperation with the ŠKO Žilina String Quartet and Ivan Gajan, she performed at the concert in the Mirbach Palace in Bratislava in 2001. She is a member of the chamber ensembles Suchoň Quintet and Armonia slovacca, with which she has performed at many concerts in Slovakia and abroad, most recently in 2006 and 2007 in Picardy, France. She is the holder of the prestigious Slovenská sporiteľňa award “Golden Note 2003”. Since 2003, he has also been teaching at the Žilina Conservatory.

Bassoonist Vladimír Hvizdák is a graduate of the Conservatory in Žilina from the class of Vladimír Šalag (1975-1981). He is the holder of the 1st and 3rd prizes from the Slovak Conservatory Competition (1978, 1980). He has worked in opera orchestras in Opava and Olomouc, and since 1987 he has been a member of ŠKO Žilina. He teaches at the Conservatory in Žilina.
