Christmas Mass

After a long time, we bring to the Žilina stage the popular “Harmonia pastoralis” – a Christmas mass by Slovak composer Juraj Zrunek. The composition was long thought to be the work of composer Edmund Pascha, who was active in Žilina in the 18th century, but musicological research has proved the authorship of Juraj Zrunek. The work retains the plan of a Latin musical mass, but at the same time uses typical elements of Slovak folk culture.
