The opening concert of the 51st season of the Slovak Sinfonietta with chief conductor František Macek will be entirely dedicated to the works of the best representative of viennese classicism, Ludwig van Beethoven, whose works have formed an important part of the Slovak Sinfonietta’s dramaturgy during the 50 years of its existence. Jakub Čižmarovič – one of the most outstanding Slovak soloists of the younger generation – will be featured as a soloist in his 2nd Piano Concerto. During the past 50 seasons, the orchestra itself has played a total of 3457 concerts, 1672 of them on its home stage in City of Žilina, 755 in other Slovak cities and 1030 concerts abroad on all continents except Australia.
